In this class we are going to have fun with art and games all while learning some Spanish! A survey is done on the first day in class to gauge student interest in activities and goals for the semester.

Activities typically include: folder decorating, watercolor painting, making cards, coloring pages & drawing, reading stories, playing “Around the World”, charades & puzzles.

Basic topics we will cover include learning numbers 1-20, 10 colors, animal names, introductions and telling age and favorite colors. We also discuss countries around the world where Spanish is spoken. We start each day off by answering a fun question which gives young students practice listening, waiting their turn and also speaking out loud. We end each day with some time to visit and talk freely while playing with Playdoh or toy animals. We will be speaking out loud and doing some light copywork.

Previous Spanish lessons not needed and repeat students are welcome! Please contact me if you have any questions.

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING:

There is no instuctor for this class.

Exceptions made for younger students if parent is staying with them.

Please limit one per semester.

We encourage students to register for classes with their peers. If the options available are not interesting to them, then we would suggest a teen helper option where they can earn volunteer hours. We also understand that sometimes students need a little extra time to get their work done, so we do make this time available for them. However, we have rules in place to make sure that study hall is being used the way it is intended.

  • Students need to check in with a board member that period and they will be assigned a designated area to study alone.
  • Students need to bring a book to read or homework to complete.
  • Screens, including phones and laptops, are not permitted in Study Hall. If a laptop is needed for their work, board approval is required.

Parables were a central part of Jesus' life and teaching ministry. He loved telling stories! Just imagine what it was like to be in the crowd, listening as his feet. Why did Jesus teach in parables? Why are they confusing sometimes? Are parables important today? I can't wait to explore these and more questions in creative ways as we dive into the parables of Jesus together, learning how to apply them to our lives. Get ready to be challenged and inspired! Lessons will include:

  • The Parable of the Yeast
  • The Parable of the Talents
  • The Prodigal Son
  • The Lost Sheep
  • The Lost Coin
  • The Vineyard Laborers
  • The Mustard Seed
  • The Unmerciful Servant
  • The Sower
  • The Feast
  • The Good Samaritan

Bring a Bible if you have one. We will provide extras.
